He was talking to his wife on the phone while using the restroom. Tries to get out of it by saying it was the TV, apparently it's a common occurrence for him.

I mean, think about it. How would you like to be on the phone and then hear a flushing sound, indicating the person you're talking to was just on the toilet? Some people might not mind it, but I think that's gross.
