Does Anyone Remember The Orignal Dungeons & Dragons Board Game?

This was what I used to play, when I was younger, way long before there was the concept of a gaming console.

The game was complicated to play and it had many strange different sided dies. I have even seen and had once a Pryamid shaped one. Most common though was the 8 sided blue dice, the white or black 10 sided dice and the orange 20 sided dice. The Pyramid Dice was green by the way.

Does anyone else remember the board game and strange gaming dies?

Sorry I am not familiar with that game. I did hear of it long ago but never saw one. I hope it was lots of fun!

I'm not enitrely sure when the board game came out. Between the 70's to the 80's. And I would say the 80's to be about the right year. It was fun, just hideously complicated. When I played it with a friend of mine, I just simplifed the rules, since the game was just between me and him, it did not matter that we did not play the game to the official board rules etc. Or we would have never ended up playing it.

The board game itself was for a certain kind and I won't say the G word, as I not wish to offend anyone. Just stating truth and matter of fact that a lot of that kind were and still are heavily into games like this, and that there still are D&D Board games for the newer generation, as Shilong just mentioned. I have absolutely nothing against them by the way, the kind I have mentioned if you have guessed which kind I am talking about.

wow, you really must be into this kind of game then, to play it every week. I play Sacred 2 nearly every day, but not always. That's the only Dungeons and Dragons type games that I like to play now. On a Gaming Console. No complicated rules, no strange die values etc. Though Sacred 2 I do feel and from my own personal expereine of the D&D Board game.

The Sacerd 2 Console Game in the way that things work etc. from the skill set to the combat arts, but more so in the way of modifications to the suits of armour, there's a certain amount of runes per armour of different combat arts belonging to different characters. But it's the values of these runes that are of interest, at Silver Level, the number values really do feel like they are based on the old D&D Die values.

It sound like. D&D not hard if you have a good group people play with and good dm (dungeon master).
