Book Two: The Shepherd Boy

Part 1

David was no more, Eddie was himself again, or was he? He woke up in bed, with sweat pouring down from his face. He looked around the bedroom. There was an all blue bedroom, even though he was fairly certain that his own room was of a blue and white motif. But after what he had just been through, it was a little bit hard to be absolutely certain. One thing for sure, he need to make sure that he was himself again and not some other boy being punished to be a Sissy.

There was no mirror in the bedroom, so he got up to go to the bathroom and sure enough inside of it there was a full length mirror. “Oh no… Not again…!” Remarked Eddie, as he looked into the mirror. A boy with short black hair, black pools for eyes, looked back at him in equal shock and dismay. Yet, oddly enough, he was of the same age, build and height as Eddie was. “I don’t get it. What is going on?”

“Only girls are supposed to take a long time having a bath, if you do not hurry up and get dressed, I will see to it that you’ll be dressed up as one.”

Came a voice from behind the bathroom door. He had locked it of course, as Eddie turned his head, the boy in the reflection of the mirror did exactly the same thing. “I’m on my way.” Eddie shouted out loud. It was definitely his actual own voice. That was odd, surely the girl or whoever it was, would have noticed at least that discrepancy, surely? The voice had definitely been female, but it was hard to tell if it belonged to a young girl or a mature woman.

Apparently not, as she replied. “Good, as I am leaving you in charge today, but do not let that get to your head for one moment young man.” After hearing the voice a second time Eddie could at least tell that it belonged to a mature woman after all. Which was probably his mother, or more to the point the mother of whom ever this boy was. “I wonder who I am this time?” He asked himself, somehow he could remember once being David, aka Dorothy. The memories were all too vivid and all too real, that he shook in response, reeling from those memories.

Not wanting to be made to be a Sissy again, Eddie quickly took a shower, got out of the bedroom, dried off and began to get dressed, glad to be back in boys clothes again, which was a pair of white Y-Fronts, grey socks, blue jeans and a white T-Shirt. Eddie was dressed and down in the kitchen, he seemed to know his way around the house, then again he wasn’t exactly himself. Somehow he was in the body of yet another boy, not knowing how or why for that matter. Which of in itself was also very odd.

Just then his mind turned to the title of that book he had stolen. ‘The Book Of Really Odd Tales.’ Things were certainly odd alright that bordered on being completely outrageous beyond belief. Like why was he in the body of a boy of the same age, height and build? And why of all things a boy that ended up being turned into a Sissy? That one thing most of all simply did not make any sense.

True, being another but different boy but same age etc. That made no real sense either. What was really the purpose of it all and why him?” Frustrated with not getting any answers to his questions, Eddie, looked for any clues as to who he was. On the wall was a duty roster, that had at least his name on it, or more to the point, the name of the boy that he was inhabiting. “Steve. Hmmm, I like that name.” Remarked Eddie, aka Steve to himself. Yet from his mouth was Eddies own voice. That was another annoying thing that just did not seem to make any sense also.

The roster had, had him down for sheep duty. As Steve/Eddie discovered that he was in a farmhouse of some kind and true enough there was sheep outside grazing in a nice open field. “Well this isn’t half bad at all.” Remarked Steve to himself, as he began to gather up the sheep and lead them to the sheep pen. It was odd however that there was no actual sheep dog.

But that was nothing compared to the set of oddities that Eddie, had faced recently.

As Steve, Eddie hoped that his day could not get any more worse. Little did he know that it was about to do so, as a little girl in a yellow cotton dress, that was yellow at the top, but the skirt of the dress was white with big yellow polka dots all over it. Upon her head, from which a bunch of ringlet curls cascaded down from, was a big yellow bonnet with white frilly lace edges.

Despite its colour and the fact that he held a crook in her left hand, Steve recognised the costume right away. It was a Little Bo Peep costume. The little girl looked to be struggling in trying to get across the field without getting her costume all dirty. The fields were all muddy from lots of rain fall, there was now quite a large enough mud patch covering most of the field area, with one part that had a mud pool, Steve did not know how deep it was.

But he did not seem to care about that, as he had a sudden thought, a really nasty one at that. Quickly, he dashed off to get as many blankets as he could find that were large enough to spread out across the field, so that the little girl could walk across them safely. This so far seemed like a very kind and generous thing to do until the girl stepped onto the blanket that covered the mud pool and splosh she went, down up to her chin in mud, which would turn out to be Steve’s very Fatal Mistake.
