Here is a little piece of the story no one but you will have read ... give a bit of insight into Pets and Playmates. Also ... being a Pet is something the young Princesses dream about becoming in the Nexus Galaxy. Is a very nice, fun, and pampered Life. There are rules Masters and Mistresses must abide by to own one.

The Pet collar originally came into being so that the fighting personnel of battle command could not be brain washed and forced to reveal information or technology.
Master Controller, Is a constructed self aware being. His only mission is to insure the survival of man and their continued happiness and to give them the freedom to pursue it. He is also battle command and a genetic part of Miki Anton.
This is a technology that allowed a person to be pre-programmed to what ever function the programmer chooses using their administrative neural access through a Pet Collar and a neurolizing halo. It is a genetic, AI controlled, programmable, nano scale, nervous system and autonomous motor control vector. It is not known, except by me, why this technology was originally invented nor to what purpose it was originally intended. This technology could not be reverse engineered because it would genetically self destruct if tampered with in any form, and the individual collared would die soon after.
The person being neurolized is completely helpless, has no say or control over this programming and they will do exactly as programmed regardless of the way the individual feels about doing it. The Pet is aware of the programming and their feelings regarding it unless Administrative Control removes the awareness. Awareness removal is specific and requires a great deal of effort. The nano genetic neurolizing collar is custom made for each individual from that individuals genetic profile. When the individual is within 10 feet of this device and it has been removed from its protective box, they are completely under the collars AI control vector and absolutely must wear the collar. Once the collar is fastened to the neck of the Pet, it becomes a permanent genetic part of them and cannot be removed. To do so is fatal for the Pet.
The Imperial House chose who became Pets. No one else had the technology or authority. All requests must come through the Imperial house and meet very strict guidelines. The decisions were final.
Males and Females who were absolutely trustworthy and loyal were provided to whoever met the special criteria and were able to afford them and proved they could care for them in accordance with the strict rules of ownership.
Very strict Universal laws were passed for the protection of Pets and Playmates, and strict criteria for acquisition since they are human and deserved not to be mistreated or abused due to their inability to protect or defend themselves from abusive Masters. The Imperial House is the only one with the Authority of binding Universal law that can create and bind Pets.
The Crown Emperess of House Anton is the only Pet who has Administrative AI Control Vector override Authority. She holds the unique status of both Imperial Pet and Ruling authority over House Anton. She also is the only one with Genetic Administrative Access to Battle Command Authority.
It has been noted for several thousand years that Pets have more rights and protections under Universal Law than any other citizen. They are guaranteed to have a very pleasant and pampered life.
They on the other hand have no free will except that granted Them by Their Masters and Mistresses and the AI control vector.
