Hi Sweeties! ^_^ Webmissy here, and it's in the rules that political posts can't be made unless it has to do with our community. Transgender people, and non-binary people very much make up a lot, if not most of the sissy community, and this something that's important for them to know.
So the Trump Administration is trying erase transgender people from existence legally so they can be discriminated against, making it even more nerve wrecking for us to just get a job to provide for ourselves, because the random people we ask for a job may have heard one of the many misconceptions about us, perpetuated mostly by Donald Trump's own party. They're trying to remove transgender people from the Civil Rights Act that protects against discrimination based on color, religion, sex and national origin. In federal courts "sex" has included transgender people for nearly 2 decades. (Trans Equality, Federal Case Law on Transgender People and Discrimination)
They want to narrowly define gender as male or female which would be incorrectly determined by genitalia at birth. Which is the Trump Administration trying to stick their fingers in their ears, and yell when SCIENCE says intersex, and transgender people exist.
You Trans Dolls will never be erased. Society will keep being educated and evolve on this issue like they did with gay marriage. It will just be very helpful if anyone who can, helps it along.
Also Science Backs Transgender People
The American Psychiatric Association (which is the largest association of mental health professionals in the world) published in the DSM that they know from psychological studies that gender identity is unchangeable. This was so well founded that they were able to pin point the age around when it starts to not become a choice, which is 3-4.
Many neurological studies were done where they examined the brains of transsexual women, compared them with the differences in male, and female brains. They found the brains of transsexuals have the same characteristics of the sex they identify with, and this was found consistently across many studies that were done independently of each other all around the world, and each one was published in different professional peer review journals. (I'll add the scientific sources below.)
Transgender women have felt like a women trapped in a body that appears male their entire lives, and scientific studies verified this.
Scientists also have different definitions for the words sex, and gender. Sex is what your anatomy is, while gender is the sex you relate with the most. It includes gender roles, which is made by society, and gender identity, which has shown to be biologically based in the brain. (This is on the American Psychological Associations list of sex and gender definitions)
It's a more accurate description of human sexuality when we use the words intersex, female, and male refer to someone's sex, and he, she, man, women refers to gender. That's what transgender women mean when they say they're women, they mean they gender. Our gender is a woman, and our sex is intersex since we were born with female brains. The Intersex Society Of North America defines Intersex as:
"..a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn’t seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male."
Being born with female brains with XY chromosomes is "sexual anatomy that doesn’t seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male".
When people see the words, "Gender Dysphoria", or it's old name that psychologists removed, "Gender Identity Disorder" psychologists are not saying, "Transgender people have a mental illness, so we have to stop them from being transgender." It's simply referring to how we are mentally harmed when we are forced to be the gender we are not. We experience severe depression, anxiety, dysphoria, and many times trans people have committed suicide over this unfortunately, which means if you try to stop transgender people from being transgender, like making them to go to transgender conversion therapy, it will make their mental health much worse.
Psychologists say it's absolutely necessary that transgender people receive Gender Confirmation Surgery, and live in sync with their gender. Which is why many people are getting it covered on health care as a necessary treatment.
The World Association for Transgender Health, "These medical procedures and treatment protocols are not experimental: decades of both clinical experience and medical research show they are essential to achieving well-being for the transsexual patient.".
"APA recognizes the efficacy, benefit and medical necessity of gender transition treatments for appropriately evaluated individuals and calls upon public and private insurers to cover these medically necessary treatments" ~ The American Psychological Association
"Therefore, the American Psychiatric Association: Recognizes that appropriately evaluated transgender and gender variant individuals can benefit greatly from medical and surgical gender transition treatments. Advocates for removal of barriers to care and supports both public and private health insurance coverage for gender transition treatment. Opposes categorical exclusions of coverage for such medically necessary treatment when prescribed by a physician." ~ The American Psychiatric Association
Your brain is a sex organ, just like the vagina. It's the real source of orgasms, and it's where sexual orientation, and gender identity originate. It has different characteristics in males and females. It's also the most influential sex organ in this way because it influences someone's entire personality, and lifestyle.
XY chromosomes, and a penis does not always mean they are a male.
There are many intersex conditions where their sex chromosomes are XXX, XO, XXY, XXXXY, and more. There is the XX male, which is called De La Chapelle Syndrome, and there is also XY females, which is called Swyer Syndrome. There is Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome where they have XY chromosomes, but they look completely female on the outside of their bodies. They have a vagina, and breasts however they don't have a uterus. They also identify as women. There are many people with Klinefelter Syndrome, with XXY chromosomes who are transgender women.
Chromosomes play a part in setting the stage for one's sex so to speak, but it's the hormones that produce, and direct the show. They are not the end all be all of what someone's sex is since there are many other parts of the body that have to do with sex. When we transition our body becomes more female. We naturally grow breasts through hormones, we lose the male genitals, and more.
