It's my first cage; in fact, I've actually never played in a cage before.
As a device of self-bondage, it's got features and drawbacks. The metal's very strong, to the point that if I got bored or just *really* wanted out, I couldn't do more than bend it very slightly. It's also easy to assemble.
That's where one of the drawbacks comes in. To make it collapsible, there are hooks to connect each wall to its adjacent partner. Those can be easily unhooked if you apply some leverage from inside the cage. The door is also a structural weak point as far as self-bondage goes. A strong enough person motivated to get out could kick it open with some effort.
To address those issues, I ran medium-loop chain around each of the wall corners and locked them on with small chain locks, and locked the door onto its frame from the inside with small chain locks. With that setup, even a very strong person would have a very difficult time getting out without the keys.

which I kept inside the cage.
So I wasn't getting out until the timer ticked down.
That's the setup. As for my reflections? It was an interesting experience. The cage is big enough to easily fit me, but not large enough to lay flat, so I had to curl up. To be honest, I got a little hammered beforehand so I pretty much just fell asleep until this morning. But it was an interesting experience.
On its own, I don't see much fun in it without a domme or significant other to control me, because after the novelty wears off, it's incredibly boring (yeh yeh I know, that's kind of the point). But, I do see some value in using it in combination with other kinks, like "forced diapering", bondage training, forced orgasm, electroshock torture, & slave training.
So my next attempt will include something like one of those. Perhaps I'll lock myself in for an hour and add a shocking chastity tube, if I can figure out a way for me to not be able to remove the electrodes.
If you try something like this on a work night, be sure to have a release time of at least an hour before you have to get ready for work; my muscles were stiff as shit this morning but I didn't have time to do any exercises or a proper stretch session to work that out. Additionally, if you're going to play in such a setup for more than a couple of hours, diapers are an absolute necessity; there is a drain pan on the bottom, but it's not big enough for the contents of a healthy adult bladder (also, that would be gross and unsanitary).
I can see some use in other areas besides kink as well. I have a tendency to overdo my AD/HD meds (Dexedrine); so I could lock myself in the cage overnight, either to prevent me taking more meds, or as a punishment for such bad behavior.
