All PG Lipstick Problem
Stained my lips!

Ok, so I used makeup for the first time tonight and left it on for about 30 mins. It is called Covergirl Hot Passion. I though a nice dark red would make me look really hot.

I go to take it off and the lipstick comes off but I find my lips are stained... bright red, it looks pretty clear that I had something on my lips.

Has anybody else had this problem and how long does it take to go away?

PLEASE answer if you know, this is a really bad first makeup experience

I know this is several hours later, but I hope you've already solved the problem. Anyway, I've heard of makeup removal wipes, you may not have those or want to expose yourself to the world to get them right now, other than that, keep washing, or try to cover it with a lipstick that's the color of your lips until you can get through this. Probably not a lot of help, but I've never had this before

Yeah its a little less than 24 hours since then. A lot of the red has come off of my lips, but it is still there a little. But around my lips (where I missed, its my first time using lipstick) it is still evidently red. It kind of looks like I have chapped lips so thats my story if anybody asks. It was a beautiful lipstick but I am definitely throwing it away so as to never do that again.

Cherry lollipops are always good for that sort of a problem too, or just cherries.

After you wipe off the lipstick apply a thick coat of Chapstick or similar to your lips, then rewipe. The grease will help lift the lipstick residue off.
Remember that the longer lasting lipsticks are designed to not wear off easily.

Hi Pullups,
Maybe you just had a skin reaction from that particular brand of lip color. Kind of like you get with some hair removers. Your lips are not quite like your skin when it comes to what they can take. Lip colors today are sold with staying pwer and I'm sure they're much harsher than they used to be. Perhaps an older lip color or "cheaper" may be better for your skin and would wipe off easier. I would rather have to re-apply color then have a bad reaction to it. I hope you're doing better.....Huggs

I know I'm really late for a post but I figured for future reference it might help to note that it helps to train your lips into their best condition using chapstick, balmex or whatever your favorite sealant may be, it makes for easier removal later and it also goes a very long way to protect from color damage like this later on. Unfortunately yes your lips will look amazing even without it but it takes much longer to remove after with things like this.

My mommy has me check my chapstick about 3-4 times a day as normal practice and staining isn't much of an issue. If I slip on that by doing less or even missing entirely I usually need makeup remover to help get the rest cleared up enough for the next day.

Hope this can help others as well.

You may want to use a cheaper brand of lipstick or even a lip gloss because the more expensive brands are designed for extended wear.

After I searched for more information about it seems to be more of a lip stain. Something you really should avoid for shorter uses.

Lip gloss last the least amount of time then lip stick and finally lip stain.
