I can tell you that that stuff just does not happen in real life; my experience is from my job. I work at a vet; and when I started, I was litterally the only guy there. To be honest, there was another guy, but he was the primary veterinarian, so he doesn't count. Anyway, working around some 20 or so women, nobody thought I should act like a girl.
