This is to show all the unbelievers that it does really happen in this earth.

Alhambra is in the San Gabriel Valley - one of the principal valleys of Southern California, United States. It lies to the east of Los Angeles, to the north of the Puente Hills.

Yogurt store owner put diapered and collared employee inside box

A Monterey Park yogurt shop owner is facing kidnapping and attempted murder charges for abducting a female employee and keeping her inside a box in a soundproof room, prosecutors said Friday.

Robert Yachen Lee allegedly lured the employee to a storage room above O My Yogurt on south Atlantic Boulevard early Wednesday, knocked her unconscious and then — after removing her clothing and dressing her in an adult diaper — placed her in a box, authorities said.

The victim told authorities that when she came to, she was bound with tape and had a collar around her neck.

Prosecutors believe Lee planned the kidnapping, because the storage room had recently been soundproofed.

The woman was able to free herself and escape to a nearby optometrist’s office, where she alerted police.

Lee appeared briefly in Alhambra Superior Court on Friday afternoon. Bail was set at $10 million.

Oh, wow and, er, ugh. This plays both ways for me...many of us have had this dark fantasy (to be the "victim") and yet, the way it is portrayed by the press is rather sick. I'm not too keen on the soundproof box idea.

Miki - I'm curious: what are your thoughts on this?

A lot of the things that happen in fantasies and stories that you might read here would be illegal and emotionally scarring to the victim if they happened in real life. There is a difference between fantasy and reality.

Don't get me wrong. Fantasy is great. The limits of the imagination are nonexistent. There's a lot of happiness there, even in fantasies where some dangerous and irreversible things happen to you. Because they're fantasies, and you can just stop imagining them when they stop being enjoyable for you.

You can even write them down and make a story out of them. No problem. It's all fantasy. It's fictional. Not real.

This guy obviously had fantasies that he decided to try to make real. I don't know if the girl had the corresponding fantasies or not, but it doesn't really matter, because even if she did, this guy went way beyond them. And he went way beyond his own, too, because I'm sure they didn't include getting arrested.

Sometimes it's possible to take a fantasy and come close to it in reality. It depends on the fantasy of course. But the key is consent. Even if it mimics a forced situation, it's still OK if there's really consent and there's safety taken into consideration. It might seem like common sense, but obviously common sense isn't always that common.
