Babyfood

What are people's thoughts about baby food. I tried some once, and just
could not stomach it, litteraly. I got down about three incredibly small
spoonfuls before I finally hurled. I also had to take long drinks to help wash it
down. Is it that I just had a bad flavor, or I got a pack that was for too
young of a baby, and a package for older babies would work better. Is it just
that baby food does not work for adults.

Please help me by giving me your opinions on this.  I am willing to retry it, but I don't want to waste my time if I am just going to punish myself again.

It all depends on which variety you try. Meats are generally BAD, fruits are mostly good. The pear and raspberry combo is my favorite. Peaches are also good.

I have tried the Gerber jarred baby food. The stewed prunes left an awful taste in my mouth and I washed it down with a bottle of milk. I wished the nipple had a bigger hole cause it took a while to wash it down. The creamed peas are not too bad, but go for the banana pudding.

When I was really young, I used to eat pablum even after I was wayyy out of baby food. My mom used to get it for me all the time and I loved it. I just don't know if it is real baby food or not. I also don't know where it is sold either. :S I hope that helps!

There are a number of adult foods that can play the part of babyfoods and hopefully not make you ill. Mashed potatoes is clearly obvious, but you can mash carrots, squash, etc... Red Beans and Rice should work as well. SplitPea soup can work, especially if it has a thick texture like the soup from Mimi's Cafe. Chicken and dumplings also has a good texture and look. So be creative. Babyfood is not the greatest, except for fruits and a few other things, but you can make your own stuff with a little work.

Thanks. I guess i will try the last jar I have, and if that doesn't go well either then I will just try making my own from time to time.

Once upon a time I lived all by my lonesome in a cozy basement suite.
It was here in my modest place that I had made up an extensive schedule
of feeding times for myself. My baby food of choice was a Heinz brand
intended for toddlers, which at first, may seem like cheating
but there's not much difference compared to the Gerbers brand.
The trick here is to get past the overall lack of taste your adult senses
are accustomed to and eat it up nice and quick if you're just starting out.

Baby Deserts in general are actually quite good :)
More flavorful and with a rich texture that is easier to digest.
Once again, I enjoyed the Heinz brand over the others
as I bought several jars of both "Banana Cream Pie" and
Strawberry/Raseberry mixtures to go with the Rice & Chicken ones.

Eating your baby food in combination with drinking warm milk
can be healthy, but be prepared for some backlash if you decide
to go on a pizza or high course meat binge (like hamburgers and steak.)
As the more often you eat baby food, the softer your stomach
lining becomes as it will produce far less acidic levels to aid digestion.

As a major positive, however, indulging in a baby-like diet
helps to maintain excellent kidney function as it fortifies their growth,
making it easier to clean out toxins from the body and reduce excess wastes
floating around in the blood stream. (Umm... Sorry if I rambled a bit)

*hugs for everyone!* :)
