Student Nurses
PART ONE: Many woman wish to pursue a career in nursing. A LPN or Licensed Practical Nurse is a goal one can reach in just 1 year of vocational training. These nurse’s skills far exceed the skills of a CNA or Certified Nursing Assistant who only go to school for 75 hours.
The Orlando School of Nursing offers the 1 year program for anyone who qualifies to enter the school. Basic skills are needed that come with a high school diploma. The school offers complete nurses training along with basic typing and computer skills.
Graduates have a high placement rating of 95% since so many jobs for LPN’s are available in the Orlando area. The latest class has just started as of August 1, 2018. All students learn a variety of nursing skills from the most basic to the advanced level.
Doctor’s Offices, Clinics, Rehabilitation Centers, and Hospitals all hire Licensed Practical Nurses. A student nurse may need help from a friend to practice First Aid and diapering skills for all ages of patients. This can get embarrassing since it may be hard to find someone students can diaper.
Pamela Perkins is 18 and just graduated from high school in May of 2018. She lives in the Orlando area and is attending The Orlando School of Nursing. Pamela is a large woman in great shape but not overweight. She is 5’ 10” tall with long blond hair, Pamela weighs about 160 pounds.
Stacy Johnson is 19 and graduated high school over a year ago. She has been working as a waitress but this is not a job she wishes to continue. Stacy enrolled and is attending The Orlando School of Nursing as of August 1, 2018. Stacy is also large being 6’ tall and weighing about 170 pounds. Stacy has long brown hair and is in good physical condition.
Pamela and Stacy became friends on the first night of classes. They sit next to each other in the front of the class so they can pay attention to the teacher. The older woman Stacy has been living in a deluxe 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment which is expensive. This weekend Pamela is moving in with her to help share the expenses. Pamela is still living with her parents.
“I’m happy you decided to share my apartment and expenses,” Stacy said.
“I think it is a wonderful idea,” Pamela said, “I can’t stay at home forever.”
Today is August 5, 2018 and it is Sunday. Pamela is completely moved in with Stacy and already unpacked and settled in her new home. Classes will continue on Monday and both women are prepared for this. Homework has been light so far at the nursing school.
“We started out with the basics in class,” Stacy said, “learning about bed pans and how to clean them.”
“Yes but the teacher said they are seldom used these days,” Pamela replied. “Diapers seem to have replaced the need for those.”
Starting Monday the teacher will be going over in detail how to diaper patients of all ages and sizes. This includes diaper sizing, skin protection, putting on diapers, and changing diapers. The ladies are a bit nervous since they will need to find someone willing to act as a patient.
The entire week of August 6 thru August 10 at The Orlando School of Nursing was about proper patient diapering and changing. As expected the students will need a friend to practice their diapering skills on. The next week of class will continue with diapering and add basic first aid.
“We need a couple of males older than we are to put in diapers,” Stacy said with a smile.
“Yes that would be perfect since many adults are diapered when confined to a medical facility,” Pamela replied.
Friday night after class is over the ladies decide to go to a local restaurant and bar and meet some men. They shower and dress up to look their best and go to Calico Jack’s in Altamonte Springs. The teacher has provided them with Tranquility ATN diapers in both medium and large size. Other sizes are available if needed by the students. The teacher insists on nurses using plastic panties over the diapers to prevent leaks.
At Calico Jacks are 2 older males sitting at the bar having Buffalo wings and a cold draft beer. One is named Butch and he lives in the area in a small 2 bedroom house. Butch is 60 years old and never been married. He is 5’ 8” tall and weighs 160 pounds after dieting for a while.
Butch is retired after a career in the construction trade. He made good money working on state funded jobs that pay top wages. Butch has short light brown hair and is in good shape other than a few injuries.
The other man likes to be called Shamrock, he is older at age 70. Shamrock retired from working at the local Walmart for many years. He is friends with Butch and lives a few houses away in the same neighborhood. Shamrock is 5’ 9” tall and weighs 170 pounds.
The ladies Pamela and Stacy are very close in both height and weight of both Butch and Shamrock. The younger ladies enter the bar looking nice and have a seat next to the older men. Soon a conversation begins with Butch offering to buy the ladies a drink. Shamrock invites them to share the Buffalo wings too.
“We are student nurses who attend The Orlando School of Nursing,” Pamela said to Butch and Shamrock.
“We just started classes and are learning to be a Licensed Practical Nurse,” Stacy said to Butch and Shamrock.
Conversation continues with the ladies talking about their career plans. Not long afterward Butch and Shamrock talk about their careers before retiring. Shamrock is also single and never got married. Good food and drinks lead to them all becoming friends. An embarrassing subject is brought up.
“We are learning the basics on how to properly diaper patients of all ages and sizes,” Pamela said.
“We need an older friend to practice diapering skills on and the 2 of you would be perfect,” Stacy added.
The ladies explain to Butch and Shamrock that their help would be great. They explain how it is important to them passing nursing school. Butch is embarrassed and turns red faced. Shamrock is suddenly blushing too.
“I am afraid I don’t need to wear a diaper,” Butch explains openly.
“I may be 70 but I don’t need a diaper either,” Shamrock said.
“That does not matter you can help us out anyway,” Pamela said.
“When you are confined to a medical facility most patients are put in a diaper even if not needed,” Stacy continued. “Patients are confined to bed and not allowed to get up on their own.”
“If the nurses are busy when you hit the call button,” Pamela added, “you may have to wait for hours to be assisted.”
Butch looks at Shamrock and gets a look back at him. These girls are young and attractive, they are hard to say no to. Why shouldn’t they help out a couple of student nurses? Diapers in adult sizes are discussed next. The girls claim to have diapers and plastic pants at their apartment and really want the men to help them out.
“This sounds embarrassing to me,” Butch spoke up, “What do you think Shamrock?”
“I think we should help the ladies out since they are student nurses,” Shamrock replied. “It would be the right thing to do.”
“OK since you put it that way I will cooperate too,” Butch replied.
Pamela and Stacy are happy and will put on their scrubs when they get back home. This is a basic nurses uniform worn by students and nurses. A second beer is drank by Butch and Shamrock, the ladies have light beer. The wings are not enough so 10 more are ordered with some bread.
“We live in north Orlando and that is not far from where we are,” Stacy said, “I have a large apartment and Pamela has moved in with me.”
“Shamrock and I live in a small housing subdivision nearby,” Butch said. “We have our own home and love the area.”
Butch has a Dodge Challenger, Shamrock and Butch arrived at the bar and restaurant in that. Stacy has a Honda Accord and Pamela a Toyota Corolla. The ladies arrived in Stacy’s car, Shamrocks Mustang GT is at his home. It is agreed that Butch and Shamrock will follow Pamela and Stacy to their apartment. Phone numbers are exchanged in case the men get lost. All 4 of them have a cell phone if needed.
“Follow me to our place so we can get in some practice diapering tonight,” Stacy said with a smile. “I hope you both can wet a diaper!”
