FADE IN. EXT. OUTER SPACE
The camera pans over the deep black of space- no sun, no planets, no moon- just distant stars forming glinting specks, a piercing, suffocating silence and an infinite darkness. What starts out as little coils and whiffs of purple smoke becomes, as the camera pans, a band of purple gases stretching out and shimmering against a field of stars- it's huge size giving opportunity to form tall mountains and sunken valleys within the billowing, moving cloud of gases. Silence still reverberates as we see a tiny, almost invisible hole punched through the twisting, purple cloud, before a sleek spacecraft races towards screen. Made from a gleaming, textured dark metal with sharp, angular lines, it almost looks like a terrifying, metallic wasp. The camera continues to pan, following the Wasp as it flies directly past the screen, revealing the ship's powerful engines and lethal, hi-tech weaponry. The ship is now flying in the complete black, the stars and clouds disappearing behind the ship, the only light are the Wasp's blue thrusters, growing smaller and smaller as the ship flies away from camera. As the blue thrusters transform into nothing but a small dot on the horizon, the title credits are unveiled one at a time in a thin, silvery font:

A sharp crack of bright light breaks the dark. What at first seems like a glorious sun dawning in the night sky reveals itself to be a huge ship driven by extremely powerful engines- The Sinai. The bright white light of the Sinai's engines reveals another ship, a ship so massive in size it appears like a vast dark ocean sitting under the Sinai; so enormous that it completely blocked out stars from a great distance- it is The Ararat. The number of people the Ararat could hold one could only guess. It is battered and scarred and shows its age like an old Roman ruin; it has an Ancient air about it. The title appears in black in the Sinai's blaring white engines, still glowing like a magnificent sun, shining over the gigantic, dark grey behemoth below it.

We are now back with the tiny wasp-like spacecraft as it approaches the Sinai, itself orbiting the massive Ararat. The wasp-like like ship that once seemed so impressive now looks fragile next to the Sinai's huge, awe-inspiring thruster engines. A series of long, pale green lights along the Sinai's side points the wasp's way to an open airlock. The ship shoots out jets of white smoke as it carefully lowers itself onto the brightly lit landing pad inside.
INT. SINAI LANDING PAD
A hissing sound breaks the complete silence as oxygen is pumped into the room from inlets on the walls. This almost immediately unlocks a cacophony of noise- we hear the roar of the Wasp's engines, the final clanks of the thick doors of the airlock shutting and a large clash of metal as they finally close completely. The calamity quiets down as the Wasp's engines shut off, it completely disappearing from view as clouds of smoke and steam billow throughout the hangar bay. A large gangplank, looking like a huge, black switchblade, suddenly cuts its way through the clouds, unfolding, extending and touching on the ground. The clouds begin to clear and a tall, athletic, bald-headed Space Marine comes to view, Captain Schneider, standing proudly atop the plank as he grimly surveys the scene. Schneider walks down the plank and makes his way through the wisps' of vapor and approaches the dark corners of the hangar bay. A silhouette suddenly becoming apparent- while the shadow is hard to see, we can make out he is a high ranking military official.

The two figures cut a path through the smoke, walking up the gangplank. At the top of the plank, while the still-hidden KURGEN enters the cabin of the Wasp, the Marine uncovers a panel on the forearm of his technologically advanced, heavily armored uniform and presses a button. We hear heavy mechanisms begin to clunk and shift before the floor below the Wasp splits open, while the landing pad starts to float in the air by itself. The Wasp twists through thick curls of smoke as bright lights from the room below bounce and sparkle off the ship, showing it in its full glory, as it slowly wafts down to the large Hangar Bay below the airlock. As the ship starts to set off over the vast hangar bay, Schneider gives a look of satisfaction and follows Kurgen into the ship.
INT. WASP CABIN
The Marine steps to the side of Kurgen in the dark recesses of the cabin, as they both peer at the scene in front of them. As the Landing Pad drifts effortlessly through the bay, we are slowly presented with an array of weaponry, rockets, crates of ammunition, vehicles, squads of Marines and a small fleet of sharp, lethal-looking spacecraft- all in all presenting quite an impressive military force.

The camera moves through the circle, revealing the two slaves at the bottom of the ship's gangplank. The high-ranking military official turns slowly, the dark red beams of light bordering the metal shield illuminating his figure in a devilish glow as we are shown his face for the first time. He is black, wearing a shaved head and a salt and pepper goatee; around fifty, but strong, athletic, with broad, thick shoulders and thick, powerful arms. A large scar runs from the top of his shaved head and down over his right eye- a metal ball with a glowing red light on it is now sitting in the socket.

The technician sits behind a desk with a lit-up holographic display illustrating much of the Hangar Bay's arsenal in bright, red light. The tech uses a hand to slide the back wall of the holographic projection. The red beams of light shut off, and large, heavy mechanisms are heard shifting behind walls as the thick shields begin to open up, revealing a large window that dwarfs the three standing in front of it. The girls stop shivering in their bonds as the sight of the massive Ararat through the window becomes clear.

The figure stretches out an arm towards the window, the camera following the length of the limb and traveling through the window. The Sinai is approaching the Ararat, and a huge, specialized airlock comes closer and closer to camera. We travel through the air lock, past a large, sweeping balcony and then met with a gigantic, gleaming city- a swell of music, of musical fanfare, can be heard as we see the impressive, vast city unobstructed for the first time. You cannot see the tops or bottoms of the thick, cylindrical pylons serving as skyscrapers- the streets connecting them to travel on forever. The crowds of humans littering the dirty, brightly lit city seem smaller than ants compared to the gigantic setting.

EXT. ARARAT INTERIOR
The rest of the production credits begin to appear as we begin a montage of shots as we travel through the vast inner of the ship. Huge golden beams of light illuminate the metal city in a pale, gold artificial light, making the mighty metal towers shine while the tiny vehicles look like fireflies in the afternoon sun as they fly at rapid speed. Shafts along the twisting towers are dotted by elevators lit up and moving up and down at incredible speeds- from a great distance, it makes the towers seem alive, sparkling with energy like a spirit. The beams connecting the towers at different, triangular angles are filled with people, restaurants and even trees while the buildings themselves are spotted with families and workers.
The camera begins to travel down, and a tarnish begins to appear on the glossy city. The streets are dirtier, and the gloss of the metallic buildings is distinctly duller. We are shown what look like long bread lines and groups of people holding signs protesting food rationing. We see men in thickly armored police uniforms watching the protests and lines closely, even using violence on several occasions. Two men break out into a dispute, fighting over a metal box, presumably containing food. The fight is ended by a police officer using a small baton that, as it is about to be slammed into one of the men's throat, bursts out a blue electrical jolt, sending the man to the ground and the other running away in terror, his hands wrapped tightly around the box. Despite their spectacular home, the citizens seem hungry, tired, weak and mistreated.
The gaps between the massive pylons form deep pits, which the camera begins to travel down. As we get lower, we see thick clouds of smog begin to build-up, masking the huge beams illuminating the Ararat. As a result, the lower and lower we go, it gets darker and darker, the wisps of smog forming into a genuine fog. The depths of the ship seem like a different, dystopic, world. The brightly lit vehicles and crowds of people are no longer present, replaced by hungry families huddled together on streets, homeless scouring for food and thieves in dark corners. It is dirty, covered in graffiti, decorated by brightly-lit and garish neon signs and garbage. Grease seems to cover every surface, while the grey smog turns from wisps of smoke drifting between towers to thick clouds. Prostitution and people whacked out on drugs on almost every street corner. This part of the city doesn't seem anything like the one that would make the sleek, well-maintained craft we saw in the opening scene. We see the graffiti 'WELCOME TO THE BASEMENT' painted on the side of a beat-up building lit-up in blue and red as a chunky, metal police car zips through the thick smog, leaving a trail in the pollution lit up by the car's lights.
INT. POLICE VEHICLE
We move inside the police vehicle, filled with all sorts of equipment, including hi-tech weaponry, radar and thermal detection, as well as a host of advanced technology. We see FRANK JOHNSON, a police officer around the age of 30, wearing a two-day growth around his chin and a grim and weary expression on his face as he stares disillusioned out the window. He turns to his partner behind the wheel, an overweight, mustachioed man named O'REILLY, momentarily as he drives past all these crimes without so much as slowing down. We begin to see the city through Johnson's eyes- a city filled with crime and despair.
JOHNSON (V/O)

We are treated to another spectacular view of the city as the elevator races across the triangular shafts, making a criss-cross pattern through the city at lightning speed, against the busy, breathing city and its majestic, mountainous towers lit up in a pale gold light looming over it. Again, we see a strong police and military presence as we get higher in the city, men with uniforms and batons physically herding crowds and pointing their high power rifles at queues to maintain order. By the time the elevator begins to slow, we are high up on the mighty towers, the tops of the golden towers seemingly home to the privileged, and a world away from the slums of the Basement. Columns of steam shoot out of the elevator approaches a new area within the Ararat- a busy hub, filled with activity, the high walls, weapons and numerous men sporting the heavy, armored Marine uniform makes it clear that this is some sort of military compound.
EXT. SINAI HUB
The glass doors on the elevators slide open and the couple slowly take a few steps into the busy crowd of people. Glaring floodlights loom over the hub as large vehicles, varying from futuristic tanks to trucks to tractors, slowly move around the compound. The hoards of citizens carrying supplies and equipment, including an impressive amount of weaponry, maneuver between the great machines at a quick pace and in an 'everyday' manner.
