Too Old For Halloween
Scene 1: In the year 1990 Sam lives with his mother in Cleveland, Ohio. Sam is anxious for Halloween to arrive. Halloween is on Saturday this year, Sam wants lots of free candy. Sam is 18 years old now, mother said he is too old to go trick or treating this Halloween. Sam is a young adult.
“Honey don’t you think age 18 to too old for trick or treating on Halloween,” mom suggested, “I think you are too old for Halloween Sam.”
“No way mom!” Sam replied, “I am small for my age and no one would know I am an adult.”
Mom is speechless for now, she can’t believe Sam wants to go trick or treating like a small child. Sam got annoyed when mom said she does not want him going out asking for candy as an adult. Sam made a few smart remarks before leaving the room. The conversation was brief.
“I am an adult now and can do what I please,” Sam insisted, “don’t take away my fun dressing up on Halloween.” “I want some free candy!”
“You live at home and mommy is the boss,” mother Sherry said, “I will decide whether you go door to door on Halloween.”
Sam went to bed on Friday night trying to think of a way to get mom to allow him to go trick or treating this year. Mom went to bed annoyed that Sam is acting like a child.
On Saturday morning Sherry got up early to go to a local garage sale in the same neighborhood. She feels Sam is acting more like a baby than an adult. At the garage sale mother Sherry found something interesting. Large cloth diapers are for sale cheap and there is a dozen of them. Plastic panties are next to the prefold diapers.
“I see you have large diapers for sale,” Sherry said to Joyce the homeowner, “how old of a child would these fit?”
“I bought these diapers for my son who wets the bed,” Joyce said, “he ended up moving in with his father after the divorce.” “The diapers have never been used.”
“How old is your son and how big is he?” Sherry asked Joyce.
“It was a year ago and Brad was 14 years old,” Joyce replied. “He was around 100 pounds and 5’ 4” tall with a 28” waist.”
Sherry is thinking that Sam is about that size at age 18. She decides that Sam can go trick or treating as long as he goes in the costume of her choice. The diapers are already washed and dried and will fit Sam perfectly.
“I will take all 12 of these thick prefold diapers,” Sherry said. “I want all 6 pairs of the clear plastic panties.”
“Yes mamm, I have no use for them with Brad living with his dad in another state,” Joyce replied smiling. “I have some Desitin for diaper rash and baby powder.”
“I will take those too and the large diaper pins,” Sherry said.
