My New Girlfriend

Background: This story takes place in 1990 and single parent families were common. Jill is a divorced mother who raised her son Tom from age 12 to the present in a single parent home. Gloria is also divorced and has been raising her daughter Betty since she was 10 years old.
The dads in both families have moved out of state and are seldom heard from. Tom is a normal 19 year old male out of high school for a year. He works part time to make money and pay mom room and board. Tom is a Fry Cook at the same diner that Betty works at.
Betty is a normal 19 year old female out of high school for a year. She works at the local diner part time waiting on tables. She pays room and board since she is an adult living at home. Betty has some minor medical problems that result in needing occasional protection of a diaper. Mom takes care of that when she thinks Betty needs it for a weak bladder.
Both Jill and Gloria are home makers who take care of their children. They received a good divorce settlement including their homes. They both sell Avon door to door and live in separate neighborhoods. Each family lives in a single story 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in a small subdivision outside of Jacksonville, Florida.
Tom is less than average size for a young adult male. He is 5’ 6” tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has brown hair down to his collar. Betty is 5’ 4” tall and small for her age, she weighs 110 pounds with long blond hair. Jill and Gloria are the same size at 5’ 10” tall weighing 160 pounds.
Chapter One: It is Monday, April 1, 1990 in Jacksonville, Florida and spring has arrived. Jill Swanson and Gloria Rogers have become friends due to both of them selling Avon and attending the meetings. Tom Swanson and Betty Rogers are their children. They became good friends working at the Mary’s Diner not far outside of town.
Tom noticed Betty makes a crinkly noise when she comes to pick up an order. This is due to a disposable diaper and plastic panties, Betty keeps this a secret. With her weak bladder a diaper comes in handy working long hours waiting on tables.
Betty’s mother Gloria insists she puts a diaper on Betty before going to work part time 5 days a week. Betty argued at first but the diaper idea has worked out well. Gloria also diapers Betty every night before bed. If needed Gloria will diaper Betty on other occasions.
The waitresses wear a jumper skirt similar to what a schoolgirl wears. All the girls are young and this outfit pleases the male customers. The jumper is red on the top with a white pleated skirt below. The skirts go 6 inches above the knees leaving no views of the girl’s panties unless they get caught bending over or lifting their arms above their heads.
Tom has looked but never seen Betty’s panties or whatever it is she wears that makes the crinkly sound. After getting up his courage Tom has asked Betty for a date this Saturday. Tom and Betty work from 9 am until 3 pm when Mary’s Diner closes. They serve breakfast and lunch but not dinner. Tom asked Betty out on Thursday and she said yes. Tom wears long pants and a t-shirt to work, it can get hot.
“Yes Tom I would love to go out with you Saturday night,” Betty said, “will you be taking me out to dinner?”
“That is what I had in mind Betty,” Tom said, “pick you up at 7 pm.”
Betty smiles and walks away with her order and the usual crinkly sound.
Every Friday the Avon ladies have their weekly meeting at the office and small warehouse in town. At the 2 pm meeting increased sales are talked about. Jill and Gloria sit together and chat before picking up what they need for deliveries next week.
“I hear Tom has asked Betty out on a date Saturday night,” Gloria said, “I am glad the kids have become friends.”
“Yes Tom likes Betty a lot and talks nicely about her,” Jill replied.
“I hope Tom won’t be upset when he finds out Betty needs a diaper,” Gloria mentions, “She does have a weak bladder.”
“I don’t see why that would make any difference to Tom,” Jill said, “He did mention she makes a crinkly sound when she walks.”
The ladies stop chatting for the meeting when it begins. After the meeting they get what is needed from the warehouse to fill their orders. Both mothers go back home to fix supper for the family.
Tom has an old Buick Skylark with the 350 V8 engine, it is nice for being a 1976 model year car. Betty drives a Toyota Corolla that is also very old but in good condition. This is the first car for both of them.
The parents Jill and Gloria have much newer cars since they have more income and savings. Jill has an almost new 1989 Buick Special and Gloria an almost new 1989Toyota Camry. Both are perfect for Avon sales. The parents are at home making dinner when the kids get home from work.
“Take your shower before dinner Tom,” mom said, “I made pork chops.”
A fry cook can get dirty as well as hot and sweaty. Tom likes to clean up as soon as he arrives home. He showers thinking about his date with Betty tomorrow night. He decides to take her to Longhorn Steakhouse.
Betty arrives home to find mother is making fish and chips for dinner. She showers and spends the evening without any diaper until bedtime.
When bedtime comes Gloria is ready in Betty’s room with a diaper and plastic panties. Disposable diapers are used since a dirty one gets put in a Ziploc bag and thrown away. There is no extra laundry this way, including no wet bed sheets or pajamas to wash.
“I have finally got used to wearing a diaper mother,” Betty said, “I hope this is not something Tom will laugh about when he finds out.”
“There is no reason he should laugh about having a weak bladder,” mom assures Betty, “he is bound to find out sometime.”
Gloria finishes diapering Betty including diaper rash cream and baby powder. She is dressed in a pink nightgown and it is now 11 pm. Mom likes to shut off the TV and lights for the night at midnight. Betty and mom enjoy watching the 11 o’clock news before bed every night.
Bock at Tom’s house dinner was great followed by an evening of television. Tom does not wet the bed, he last wore a diaper at the age of 6 when he stopped wetting the bed. In first grade he occasionally wore a diaper to school in case of accidents.
“I hope you have a wonderful date with Betty tomorrow night,” mom said, “she seems like a nice girl and is very pretty.”
“Yes mom she is both of those things and I like her a lot,” Tom said. “I am taking her to Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner and then a movie.”
The Colony Theatre has movies on weekends that start at 9 pm. Tom is taking Betty to see Cinderella, the big screen version. He feels she will like this movie even if it is not one of his favorites. Mother agrees it is a very good choice of movies for a first date.
The Swanson home also believes in lights out no later than midnight. Tom and his mom Jill watch the 11 o’clock news on television and then go to bed afterward. Like usual the home is quiet and dark overnight.
