Snowdonia. Part 1 (Added Part 2)

SNOWDONIA

Part 1

Snowdonia, Mars, 2525:

Much has happened over the many years when Earth once used to be the home planet for humans everywhere. But as climate change began to get really out of hand, out of man’s own doing insisting on having things like oil, gas, etc. that any and all attempts to try and correct the Earth’s Ozone Layer problem, among other things, only became far worse in the end. But the people in power and wealth tried to blame the problem on anything they saw fit to put the blame onto something else, other than accepting the blame themselves.

But the public had reached a point where they were not blindly accepting their excuses. Men and women joined in a new fight, instead of against each other etc. A fight against the government, every one of them around the world. It was a fight that they could not possibly win, population had also gotten way out of hand. Food and drink wasn’t the only thing to start to be in short supply, the economy fell so far, so fast, that all-out war had broken out amongst every country, nation against nation and for what?

Humanity almost had wiped themselves from existence, only level of too much death and destruction was the only thing that brought them back all together, and they knew that Earth was dying, worse still, they could not save it. There was only one other planet that would and could work, to terraform completely and that planet was Mars. And so Mars became the new home world for human beings, or more to the point, what was left of them.

Things began a new, but typically no one learned from their past mistakes, the problems of Earth began the new problems of Mars. It had to stop, once and for all, there had to be a new kind of world order. It was not easy to make that a reality, but by the turn of 2525, there was new kind of a government, a whole new way of life, but with no children at all in it. No child existed beyond the age of 18. Somehow this brought about a whole new stability, mostly in terms of the new economy Christmas became the least expensive time of year and somehow that mattered far more than their not being any children at all.

Also once and for all, the war of the genders between man and woman was a thing of the past, never ever to repeat itself ever again, men were real men and women were real women, no longer did they dress like men or have equal rights the same as men. Although they did have certain rights as being women, but controlled in a cleverly crafted way designed by the real people that held the power. Men.

Gays, Lesbians, and anyone one else that was different, had all been wiped out. Man would not idly stand by any kind of imperfections to their race, it had to be made and kept pure, to keep the rule and power on Mars, as constant as the stars themselves.

All of those who were 18 years old were kept at that age, so there would be no need to replace them, without growing old they were kept as cheap manual labour for the mines of Mars and other work. One place above all, had been chosen to be the main central city, even though it was not exactly the true centre of mars, but that did not matter, they changed the face of mars, and I do not mean the famous face, literally the whole surface of Mars was altered to the point to f being beyond being recognised as Mars any more.

In fact, it looked like how Earth used to be and Earth itself in a way had become the New Mars. It looked more like Mars, with virtually no atmosphere to it, all of the rivers, lakes and sea beds were drier than the Sahara desert. Earth was desolate, a baron world that had even become so unimportant to the inhabitants of Mars. It’s a wonder that the ones in power had not changed the name of Mars to Earth and the name of the Earth to Mars.

But no, the name had become a symbol, almost a God in its own right. And the Main or Mega Capital of Mars was Cydonia, that had been renamed Snowdonia, though some people began to referred to it as being The City Of Christmas.

It was winter all year round there, yet somehow, it was never actually too cold, somehow, mankind had found a way to create a snow filled environment that did not have to be kept at sub-zero temperatures. But how was such a thing even possible? Every Top secret Black Projects had been used to make Mars be the New Earth, so to speak.

Best of all, no one question how or where the technology came from to make half of the things on mars, even be possible. To everyone technology seemed to really had surpassed itself, man had proven once for all that anything to be possible. And as such, they were contempt in this belief. In truth, human society was not really happy, but no one dared to speak out, take action, it was far better to accept life on Mars as it was, or so they thought.
