I went out in my kilt today, so I wasn't wearing any. Apparently, that says I'm "gross, but not afraid to do my own thing...." (I'm paraphrasing--but the "gross" was an actual quote.)

True story from today: a lady in her 50's walked past me, did a double-take, and struck up a conversation. She said, "Oh, I LOVE that! You must be from Scotland!"

Naturally, having grown up in East Texas, I can thicken my accent when I choose to do, so I responded, "No Ma'am. I'm frum Ee-ust Take-sus." (Okay, that's hard to do--try to spell phonetically what I sound like!) Anyway, after a bit of talking, she did get around to asking "THE QUESTION."

"So, I have to ask...what are you wearing under it?"

"I'm wearing boots and socks today."

"No! You know what I mean!"

"Well, Ma'am--good girls don't ask, and naughty ones check for themselves."

She laughed and told me I was "naughty" as she walked away. I called, "Thank you, Ma'am!"
