buying panties in a store
buying online because your too shy to go to a store?

I used to buy my lngerie online. Once I had a nice talk with the lady at the counter of a sexshop: I was complaining about the high price of the panties there, so she nicely talked me into buying them in some store in the same mall . It was a store for womens fashion only and i felt kinda wierd, but it saved me 70%. Now I always go to stores. That is not only cheaper, but also more exciting. you dont have to pay for the shipment, you get what you see and you dont have too wait weeks for your order. (Which can be exciting too, admitted). Although I always -except once- was treated remarkably polite I still feel not quite comfortable. How do You Girls experience that? Am I beeing a bad sissy for feeling ashamed? I mean I do beleave in our principles and I do find it unfair that women get to wear all the nice clothes and we men don´t. its just this feeling that I´d rather not have. Any suggestions?

Or: If it was totally accepted, where´s the kick?

Your´s truly,
Suzie

All it takes is an ounce of courage to save a bundle buying panties in a store like Target or even Walmart for a crossdresser or Trans person. Just look comfortable as you walk around the lingerie isle and DON'T give genetic women a wide birth, only give them as much space as they give each other, and you will be quickly accepted by the women in the "women's" section of almost any store in any place.

Now while the panties at a place like Victoria's Secret might be a little bit nicer, each panty costs as much as a pack of 3-5 of them at a lesser store. Porn stores charge the MOST for lingerie and I would never buy lingerie at one, only fun buttons and bumper stickers.
A young girl's greatest fear isn't monsters, or magical threats from beyond time and space.
No, a young girl's greatest fear overshadows all of those things.

Her greatest fear is to be alone.

Since I´m from Europe (no victorias secret here) i guess its easier for me anyway. no offense, but i do have a prejudice about americans being more conservative in gender matters. Anyway: do the employees in these stores assume i´m buying this for myself, for my girlfriend? Does it happen all the time, like three times a day that some guy comes in buying pink child-size panties? (They probably think about it less than I do, i know...)

One funny anecdote: the other day a friend of mine visited his mother because she had a broken hip. She sent him shopping; along the list: tampons. he was not amused.

well as far as the bigger stores go. the employees seem to not care most are there just to make a living or they are 16 and dont know any better. the fansy mall department stores seem to think i am buying for my girl. I just dont ask or tell or give extra info that wasnt askeed for. still kinda the boy/hunter in me.....in out and get it over with.... :)
LOVIES

Personally I have no problem buying panties in person. I just don't really like going in all girl stores when I haven't been there before.

never bought any in person. but thats mainly because im not gonna buy panties with my mom. i shop alone, and i cant even remember the last time i was in a store without a family there. its rather annoying being so close to the womens section and being restricted to the electronics.

but i finally got my drivers lisense yesterday(after 3 years with my learners) so now i should be able to go shopping when ever i want.
i am brittany her royal puffiness!!!

im officially in love with the color pink.

*hugs and kisses for all*

Well for me I go in to look all the time and no one seems to question but if I go and buy them I get looks, however since I came out to my friends about wanting to be a girl my friends who are girls always go out with me to get some. And as much as I love Victoria Secret, Walmart is more practical.
All we want in life is someone to cuddle, a skirt, and a clean diaper. (oh wait that's just me *giggles*)

It depends how you carry yourself and what you wear. Since I go unisex to the stores, it looks like I am buying for someone else. Usually my wife is with me too, so I fly under the radar there.

At Lane Bryant one time I asked the sales woman about the larger size ruffles panties...it turns out they were discontinued. Not skipping a beat I said, "Oh well...guess I'll have to take care of the 2 pairs I have left." I have not gone into that store since.

I get so embarresed buying underwear.I once bought a cute pair of panties. When i got to check out in the supermarket i had not realised they came with a little top too.The sales assist had to get them for me and bring them to the counter.I nearly wet myself with embarasement.

You should not feel embarrassed at all. I have a friend who worked at a Payless Shoes while in college, and she said people came in all the time to buy women's shoes, oftentimes dressed. Most retail outlets like Wal-Mart have this happen often enough that while it may be embarrassing/thrilling for you, to most of them, it's probably something routine enough that it gets mentioned in the break room, giggled about once, and forgotten. I have had a salesclerk ask me if panties were for me, and when I gave an honest reply, she suggested a different size for a better fit. Relax, if someone is nasty to you, just keep in mind we are not fully understood by everyone, and look for a different clerk next time.
Kisses!

ok never bought online mainly cuase when i first started to buy i never had a bank account or card that would allow me so i had to buy from the stores. I'm glade i did start back then cuase now i could trot into a wemons clothing section of almost any store and just start looking around like one of the girl. though i still have that nervois fear of poeple looking and thinking odd thoughts but its not so bad these days I even have gone on an outing dressed as a girl to walmart and bought girls cohting but that was rare and still relly scary but in the end the fun greatly out wighed the fear. all i know is the fear or nerviusness is normal and will never go away. so just do your best to let it go and injoy your self.

Its been a while since I started this thread, and I must say I do feel much more comfortable with buying panties now. I think its kinda unreasonable since I have like 20 pairs and keep buying them, but a fresh brandnew pair of panties is just so exciting! On my way home I´m so happy and cant wait to arrive home to get dressed...

I bought this white pair of stockings plus garter belt the other day at a market stand. There was this muslim kinda guy who sold all kinds of cheap clothes. I passed the stand like two or three times until i went up to him and started bargaining. I said I wanted to buy those for my wife, since she always buys so expensive clothes. He said he wouldnt care if I bought them for myself. Then HE started complain about HIS wife and all the money she spent on clothes. Was kinda annoying for me because I was planning on getting in and out of this quick. I was still standing there with the lingerie set in my hand. Anyway, at the end he sold it for two bucks (now how cheap is that!?)

Was kinda funny in retroperspect...

I love the thrill of buying panties in person. I have only done it a few times because I am afraid I will run into someone I know. I just joined this site and this is the first thread I read. Thank you very much for posting it, I loved it very much. I hope I enjoy the rest of the site as much as I enjoyed this post.

When I wear panties (oft times I am diapered), they are exclusively little girl style. I like briefs, and hipsters are okay. I used to buy them in the store, but I wear a size 16 girls, and last time I was in a store I realized how others who do not understand me might look at it. 30's, male, no wife or daughter, looking at little girl panties (while mothers were there with their own little girls). Yeah ..... I don't buy them in the store anymore!

I am a Victoria's secret nut, I buy all my panties from them. The sales girls don't care, they ask me if I want the matching bra, I just tell them I cant it into their bra's . I'm a size large pantie but a size 48 bra.

I buy stuff on the net, and at sex shops. I live in the bay area so nothing I can do will shock anyone (Maybe if I walk in with a flock of sheep). Love me some California!

I have only been out to buy panties once and I planned the shopping excursion like I was planning to rob the place. I had no idea what size I was so I had to buy a tape measure first to measure myself with. I dashed into the restroom and measured myself there to find my size. Then I steeled myself (I was still trying to think of an excuse to chicken out) and went back in. I found the lingerie department which thankfully had very high shelving so nobody could see me. I grabbed the first pack of panties that I could find in my size and made a beeline for the register.

I have never felt so exposed before as I did when I was walking through the store with a pack of panties in my hand. I felt like I was carrying a live grenade. I don't think anybody noticed me carrying them but it was all I could do to remain calm. I was lucky in that this store had self check-out which meant I didn't have to interact with anybody to buy these, but once I got there I had to wait in line for what felt like ages. Anybody who wanted to could have easily seen me carrying them but I don't think anybody did. I finally got to the self check-out terminal, paid, and put the panties in a bag as quickly as humanly possible.

All in all it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be and I convinced myself to buy a dress at another store. Still, I haven't worked up the nerve yet to buy some nicer panties yet because I will have to interact with a clerk when I do. Oh well...

Whenever I bought panties in the store, it was usually with a friend of mine who knew i crossdressed. I only bought a a pair once on my own, it was at a novelty shop where they might give you a look, but they don't really care b/c they're used to seeing that kind of thing.

Here is one for you all. I went as Alice this year for Halloween and my fiancee wanted to get me a sexy pair of panties to wear with my costume. We went into Victoria's Secret and found a pair I thought would fit. So I asked the sales lady if I could try them on. To which she replied of course. And then she went on to say that a lot of guys come in all the time and try on panties before they buy them. So girls don't be afraid to try them on before you buy.
